Longhua Temple (é¾å寺) is the oldest Buddhist temple located in Shanghai, with a history spanning over 1,700 years. It was built during the Three Kingdoms period, believed to have been constructed by Sun Quan as a dedication to his mother. The temple features the distinctive Longhua Pagoda, a statue of the Thousand-Armed Guanyin, and traditional Chinese architecture.

Tips for praying at the temple and making your wishes come true šš»
1ļøā£ Purchase incense sticks at the entrance (20 yuan). Light the incense and walk around the Longhua Pagoda three times clockwise, offering prayers and making wishes.
2ļøā£Ā Enter the temple to pay respects in the following order.

Maitreya Hall (弄å殿)Ā houses a large statue of Maitreya Buddha.
Devajara Hall (天ē殿),Ā the roomĀ of theĀ Four Heavenly Kings and SkandaĀ Bodhisattva
Mahavira Hall (大éå®ę®æ)Ā is the highlight of the temple, housing the statue of the Thousand-Armed Guanyin. The walls behind it are adorned with images of Twenty Heavenly Deities and Sixteen Arhats.
Three Sages Hall (äøå£ę®æ)Ā houses the three Bodhisattvas of the Pure Land ( Western Three Saints).
šš»Ā At each spot, bow three times while offering a prayer.
š You can visit and play with the cats at the temple. They're adorable, and you can pet them or give them treats.

š Take bus line 11 (exit 2) or line 12 (exit 4) to Longhua Station (é¾åē«). It's about a 5-10 minute walk.
